The SFC/SNES version of Donkey Kong Country 2 was re-released on the Virtual Console for the Nintendo Wii in Europe on May 16, 2007, in North America on May 21, 2007, and in Japan on October 23, 2007. The game was remade by Rare, being just titled Donkey Kong Country 2 (スーパードンキーコング2, Super Donkey Kong 2 in Japan) and released for the Game Boy Advance in 2004. ĭonkey Kong Country 2 also had a semi-sequel called Donkey Kong Land 2 and released for the Game Boy in 1996, also starring Diddy and Dixie Kong. It was commercially successful selling 4.37 million units. The game features are improved from Donkey Kong Country's, with better graphics, more enemies and animal buddies, harder stages and additional depth.
